AvaLAN Wireless Systems Incorporated, a

appointed Matthew S. Nelson to be their new CEO and president. Matt
Nelson brings a powerful combination of business and technical acumen
in the high-technology industry with over 20 years of innovative
business, technical expertise and global market experience. Since
inception, AvaLAN Wireless has been founder-driven by Michael Derby
over the previous five years and AvaLAN has had compound annual growth
rate of over 50 percent and remains well positioned for continued
growth in the future. AvaLAN has established itself as an industry
leader with over 20,000 industrial long-range wireless Ethernet devices
already deployed for surveillance, security, access control, and
digital signage.

Prior to joining AvaLAN Wireless, Matt was
employed at Avocent Corporation, where he introduced the world’s first
wireless VGA/DVI/HDMI extension products and was responsible for
marketing and strategic planning in the Professional Audio Video and
Digital Signage market segments. Mr. Nelson has successfully launched
several revolutionary products for Avocent, Motorola, 3COM, Iomega and
Time Domain, as well as the first ultra-wide band chipset, the first
single chip SOC commercially available for broadband DSL, and the first
wide-area wireless PC card for laptop computers. Mr. Nelson holds a
Bachelor of Science degree in computer information systems and a Master
of Business Administration from Regis University in Colorado.
